Helena’s ongoing fight with breast cancer

3News NZ

Helena McAlpine is a woman who wants to get a message to every other woman in the country before she dies.

She's been on Campbell Live many times since she was diagnosed with breast cancer and has allowed us to record some of the most difficult days of her life.

Helena is 34 now, she is still fighting the cancer hard, but it has spread.

To get her message across she's made a music video, and she sat down for a special interview with John Campbell.

Watch the video.

I have the privilege of knowing the most beautiful woman in the world. She is so beautiful that what might be considered flaws are themselves beautiful. She is also completely, maddeningly modest. After a mastectomy she is still the most beautiful woman in the world.

You are a strong wahine, and you have made me realise how important it is to look after our bodies. So I want to say thank you. Truly.
