Andrea Hewitt has missed out on a medal after a brave effort in the women's Olympic triathlon.
Hewitt was 27th coming out of the swim in the Serpentine in Hyde Park before making good progress to end the cycle leg in third place.
But she struggled to keep in touch with the leading group for much of the run and was dropped on the third of the four running laps.
She eventually finished sixth, 48sec behind the winner Switzerland's Nicola Spirig who just edged out Sweden's Lisa Norden in a sprint finish. Australia's Erin Densham was third.
