Pesticides threatened the survival of the bald eagle (Reuters)

America’s national bird, the bald eagle, has been saved from being wiped out on a West Coast island where pesticides were a serious threat to the population.

Rescuers set up cameras in nests – called ‘eagle cams’ – in a bid to save the birds.
