A recruitment agency says there is a high demand for workers in the IT industry.
Roman Rodger of Hudsons says that close to half of IT employers are currently looking for staff, along with more than half of South Island employers.
Mr Rodger says the South Island demand is largely driven by the Christchurch rebuild.
