Hilltop properties crumbling away

As badly-affected homeowners wait to hear if their land can ever be rebuilt on, there are already some residents who know for sure they won't be returning to their piece of paradise.

They're the ones perched on the edge of crumbling cliffs in the Smart Hill suburbs like Clifton Hill.

Some properties there have already lost 15m of land and buildings are right over the edge.

Kidsfirst presented options to close and split children between their other centers in Sumner, Redcliffs, Bromley and Opawa. Strong feeling from the majority of parents was that they would like to continue to have a temporary facility. Whilst structurally safe the Church requires some bracing work, cordoning of vicarage and to make safe the separate bell tower. Apparently this work can not be done as the Church is in the white zone. It was agreed that a second meeting would take place before the 15th of July. Giving Kidsfirst an opportunity to consult with the Ministry of Education, who were not present at tonights meeting, on options to re-open Mount Pleasant Kindergarten in a short/medium location. Plus to start the longer term process of securing a site to rebuild.

The interviewer actually offended me with her continued questioning on the same topic that he had already answered. If anyone should resign from their job it should be her. She didnt go into that interview with the purpose of getting his side of the story, she went in to try and get him to dig a bigger hole. That is poor journalism and she should resign!
