Broncos superstar Justin Hodges is set to miss the first half of the NRL season after rupturing his Achilles tendon at a conditioning camp in Queensland over the weekend.

The full extent of the injury won't be known until after surgery tonight.

The only positive for coach Ivan Henjack is that it happened pre-season and Hodges should return in time for the second half of the season.
