On show were some fantastically creative and asthetically appealing homes. And it's hard to look past the beautiful facade of the structures, and really appreciate that special connection between the house and the spirit of those who live there....yet the O'Sullivans seemed to have achieved that. Congratulations.

All lovely homes. For me, Gerald Parsonson's design wins (similar in feel to some of Glenn Murcutt's homes). The Stevens Lawson home is also beautiful.

I loved the batchy looking place in the Hawkes Bay. Simple, yet, with such personality - great for the family!

Love the farm house at Porongohia (E).Would love that as a beach house .The sheltered extended overhang in the front of the building is great for the beach .I would love one of those on my beach section.

I loved the house in East Auckland, the materials used and the use of light was inspirational.

I love the bach by Gerard Parsons, it really expresses what building in this country is all about. How can I get one? But the last house was just the opposite and the vertical fins look really out of place and chopped off at the top.

The house in the Hawke’s Bay hills is the most appealing. It definitely looks the best. It’s contemporary yet unpretentious and blends into its landscape beautifully. I love the natural colours and the kiwi “barn” look.

All of the homes presented were wonderful in their own way - meeting their owners needs....but out of all of them I prefer the East Auckland home myself.
