Porn tycoon Steve Crow says he is "gob-smacked" that his pledge of $5000 to the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation (NZBCF) has been rejected - and is instead donating the money to an organisation set up by a UFO cult.

The money originally offered to NZBCF will instead go to Clitoraid - a US-based organisation set up by UFO cult the Raëlian Movement, which claims to help women around the world suffering from genital mutilation.

Mr Crow yesterday said that if he got 100 women to take part in the next 'Boobs on Bikes' parade, scheduled to be held in Auckland's Queen St in September, he would donate $5000 to NZBCF. An additional $2500 would be donated if 100 men also signed up.

The offer was withdrawn today after NZBCF emailed one of the parade's organisers, turning down the offer. Spokeswoman Jeanine Gribbin said the foundation takes care "to avoid events/projects that might be inappropriate or do not support our intentions, messages or have relevance to our stakeholders".

NZBCF earlier this year turned down an offer of a free stand at this year's Erotica Lifestyles Expo, also run by Mr Crow, who said the foundation should be feeling "shame" for their latest snub.

"Is the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation so flush with cash that it does not need money to help New Zealand women combat and/or live with this horrible disease?" Mr Crow wrote in an email to NZBCF. "If not, then who the hell are you to take a moral high-ground that could deny one or more New Zealand women a better life?"

Mr Crow also criticised NZBCF for accepting money from SkyCity and the Lion Foundation, which are funded through "alcohol and gambling".

The money will now be pledged to Clitoraid, which was set up in 2006 by UFO cult the Raëlian Movement - who believe their leader Rael was visited by extra-terrestrials who gave him special instructions for mankind.

It is not known at this stage whether Mr Crow is aware of Clitoraid's background.

Steve Crow should be paying high taxes in this country. No thanks we dont want your filth and crap to displayed in public. Take it elsewhere out of New Zealand. We want to keep our families and children safe and not your lifestyle thanks. Boobs and bikes will go stale and no one wants it.

Agrees with Hope that 'When you want to give from the heart, genuinely for a cause that you feel for, you don't put conditions you just give.' Maybe it's a cover up for breast implant scars, the next parade, that is? Can you imagine what he will be trying to parade next with his new choice of charity!?! It IS all promoting his porn empire. I also support BCF in their decline of having a breast cancer stand at the next Erotica Expo!
Put more taxes on Porn books, DVD's, paraphenelia etc and the Government can distribute that to the Good causes. As they do.
And as for Straker's comment about not seeing 'Porn-crazed rugby ape bashes partner at night club' headlines. Do you read the news? oh that's right, the porn crazed rugby guy doesn't take his partner out to night clubs, he picks on women visiting the night club instead! And then imagines them acting out porn scenes with him. Even thinking, they were asking for it when he brings in MORE of his team players. Nice one!

Good on the BCF! Thank you for having values that are not moved by money. If Steve Crow's donation was genuine, it would come with no strings attached. When you want to give from the heart, genuinely for a cause that you feel for, you don't put conditions you just give.If BCF had bowed in, the next thing he would be asking for is for breast cancer survivors to parade their scars from their mastectomies and rebuilt breasts all in the name of raising money for a cause, when all he is after is promoting his porn empire. I cannot applaud BCF enough.

Steve Crow's arrogance is breathtaking. Maybe NZBCF may have accepted a donation if it didn't have strings attached.
Crow's offer is nothing more than a cynical manipulation designed to promote his own business. As for taking the moral high ground that he is somehow supporting women, he needs to look in the mirror and see how his industry exists to exploit women. The way he reacted to NZBCF's refusal is like a child throwing his toys out of the cot.

I agree that this is just a scam to get cheap publicity. I'm sure the ante could be upped. Imagine the profit made from all the women in Steve's chosen work industry. Come on Steve, pull out the bigger wallet as $5000 is a mere toss in the pot.
And if you so want to help the NZBCF, anonymous donations are always accepted...you don't have to be a 'noter' as well :-)

To the author of the article and others using discriminatory language. The United nations declaration on the elimination of religious discrimination and intolerance, states : The use of terms like Cult or sect to describe religious minorities are pejoratives and considered forms of intolerance and discrimination. For what is a Religion but a successful cult.

Female pleasure and female freedom are very important for our future, our happiness as humanity. The real "cults" are all those old (outdated) organizations still preaching anti-pleasure and anti-freedom values. Are we on Earth to suffer? No thanks! :-)

ClitorAid.org is helping to stop the barbaric traditional of circumcizing children. Steve Crow is my hero. He chooses to help the non-profit organizations who embrace our humaness. If the NZBreast Cancer Foundation rejected my offer of money (from an atheists which I am), than I would publicly announce to everyone that the $ would go to some other good cause, like http://wwwclitoraid.org
