Neil Broom and Aaron Redmond have been revealed as the players charged with severe misconduct by New Zealand Cricket on the New Zealand A tour of India in August.

The pair left the team hotel late at night to visit a nightspot in Chennai, before deciding to withdraw money from an ATM machine to hand to people living on the street, leading to a small riot which had to be broken up by police.

Broom and Redmond felt it was important that they acknowledge the fact they were involved in the incident to ensure none of the other players on tour were unfairly associated with the misconduct.
