Police were kept busy in Auckland on xmas day

Sat, 26 Dec 2009 8:19a.m.

Police throughout the Auckland region had a busy Christmas night - frustrated at the amount of drunken disorderly behaviour.

Northern communications shift commander Inspector Shaun Rutine says officers throughout the entire region were rushed off their feet attending booze-fuelled callouts.

Inspector Rutine says he does not yet know how many people were arrested, and says it was not only young people playing up.

Inspector Rutine says it is disappointing that there is not at least one day a year people can behave themselves.

Would be interested to know of those arrested for disorderly behavior, how many of those people were antagonised by the police,
