A man charged with murdering 54-year-old homeless man Steven Harris in Auckland's Myers Park has been remanded in custody.
The 49-year-old appeared in the Auckland District Court this morning and was granted interim name suppression.
He was remanded in custody to appear in the High Court at Auckland on Wednesday.
The man turned himself in at the Auckland central police station yesterday afternoon, accompanied by his lawyer, police said.
Mr Harris died in hospital after being stabbed in the upper body in the downtown park about 11:30pm on Wednesday.
