We have 'The Nunnery', an accommodation business in Te Aroha. We would love to accommodate visitors for The Rugby World Cup and will only be charging our standard prices. Perhaps overseas visitors should spend time in the regions between matches. It would even be cheaper to stay with us and travel on match days.

Im not happy with this hotels try to rip rugby fans . I hope thei fans from Australia and NZ boycott those hotels in the future. NZ will support the rugby world cup because its the biggest event ever in NZ history. Its the national sport of NZ and we stand bihind the All Blacks in good and bad times. Go the All Blakcs and the greatest game ever.

My heart is bleeding for the poor Aussies who feel they are being ripped off by the greedy Kiwis.
In 2006 my wife and I went to Bathurst on a tour organised by Willament travel. We stayed 3 nights in the Commercial Hotel in Lithgow which is about an hour bus trip from the Mount Panorama circuit. The room was approximately 7ft wide by 10ft long. It had a double bed, a small fridge, a hand basin, a small coffee table and an electric kettle. It was what I would politely describe as rustic. The charge for this room was $500NZ per night. I would be very surprised if the regular rate for this room was more than $50 per week.
Do I feel like I was ripped off. Absolutely.
Did I complain. No I didn't.

I wouldnt get too concerned about hotel prices yet, there could be a lot of empty houses should we (NZ) crash out on the quarter finals or the semi. I see a mass exodus of kiwis if that happens.
