For the first time police have discovered a pure kind of LSD that New Zealand has not yet seen.

It was found in a man's car outside Spring Hill Corrections Facility near Huntly.

The powder is worth $2.5 million and would have made a staggering 50,000 LSD tabs.

A fortnight ago Mt Eden prison guards intercepted nearly $10,000 worth of methamphetamine.

Two men - including a recently released prisoner - were arrested and are facing drugs charges.

Campbell Live wanted to see how easy it is to get drugs into prisons, so they spent a day with prison guards on the watch for contraband.

It wasn’t long before they found some.
