The pilot of the hot air balloon that crashed near Carterton in January killing 11 people tested positive for cannabis, an interim accident report has revealed.
The Transport Accident Investigation Commission (TAIC) released an interim report today into the crash of a hot air balloon near Carterton which killed 11 people.
A drug advocate says New Zealanders have 'romanticised' the Class C drug and it should not be decriminalised.
Lance Hopping was an experienced balloon pilot, but when he took to the air in January he had cannabis in his system.
