A loophole has been discovered in SMS security meaning people can send fake text messages.
All you need is a free computer programme and some mobile numbers.
One number is listed as the sender and the other is the receiver and the message can say whatever you want.
The loophole is disconcerting to say the least, with the potential for the programme to be used by sexual predators.
The fake SMS programme is particularly dangerous considering a text message is now admissible in court.
A text message can now be used as evidence, it’s essentially proof that something has been sent and could put someone in jail.
Campbell Live investigates the loophole and looks at what people can do to protect themselves.
