Hoki is one of New Zealand's biggest fisheries – 130,000 tonnes of it are caught every year. But is that too much?
Stocks of hoki certainly took a big hit from overfishing a decade ago.
And while the fishing industry now says that the use of sustainable fishing methods has seen fish numbers increase, and the Government says its fishing policy is world leading, there are still people who believe fishing levels are too high.
