we don't want or need this, and it is interesting that Sue Kedgely is on here, as the Greens presented it to parliament. Funny on that one.

The last food bill was in 1981, and there is nothing wrong with the way it now - leave small organic gardeners alone. This is about Monsanto having control over the food supply. Scrap the bill - completely. No amendments - scrap the bill.

I realise there's not much time for in-depth reporting on television, but can you really call this the "full story"? There was perhaps one questioned asked of the minister, and she spoke for less than a minute. How is that the full story? Can we please have some substantive reporting. If, as the ministers says, this bill just says that if you sell food it has to be safe, why does it require in excess of 300 pages to say this? Why not ask about our WTO obligations and national sovereignty. John, you've always been a favourite of mine, but I really have no idea why. This show is lite! Where can I go in NZ to read the news?

Food Bill is all about Monsanto getting their G E seeds into countries and creating a monoply. Indian farmers had Monsanto sell them cheap non propagating seeds. Farmers used seeds of previous crops for decades. Monsanto seeds can only be used once,so farmers had to purchase seeds every year at higher and higher prices. Monsanto had a patent and a contract that declared the farmers agreed not to buy other seeds, it was enforced and the results were mass suicides because theycouldnt afford more seed to grow crops to feed their families. This food bill is a Monsanto led scheme that ensures them the controll of world food. ONE WORLD GOVERNMENT of which JK is a member and he will enforce the scheme if he is allowed , petitions are ignored by this government , people dont count.
Forget about conspiricies, thats what governments around the world con people into thinking its all "theory", because it seems so unbelievable, its real ,why do you think J K was so triumphant at winning , he had 7 P R people to promote him, media wont talk about the food bill , police will back J K as they have other leaders, why do you think riot police are ready for protesters all around the world and why do they all dress the same, and why are they allowed to be so ruthless, wake up people we are or will lose all freedom very soon .

Right all the research that me and hubby have done the last year is finally coming to show....the new world order is John key's ultimate goal and if you can't see this then you have most likely been brainwashed or been drinking fluorided water....seriously how can selling organic vegies be bad for our communities? I dont give a toss about the odd bug in the leafs....they can be washed off....far out seriously world war 3 is ramping up while we are discussing this issue and whenever this war happens and no supermarkets are open, who will feed you and your kids then? No i am NOT a crazy conspiracy person either, I am a crazy truth seeker....just baffled that all of you are so blindfolded about politics....*shudders* and the iran madness and how USA is 'in control' over everything, makes me sick!

No one seems to have read the bill. The food bill hasn't been reviewed since 1960s and is badly in need of an overhaul. I am involved with a charity on the issues of food allergen labelling on food products. This is not just simply another lot of legislation to tie up food producers in knots. For goodness sake, if you have concerns put it down in a submission. I have heard of an instance where a bee product has been banned in Europe but a producer here is selling/exporting it online without understanding or even cognisant with the fact that countries also have specific legislation relating to allergens and food products. Think of the implications or damage it can have on legitimate export producers who have done their homework and are aware of their liabilities if things turn to custard. This food bill is not an attack on farmers markets or small producers, I have supported a lot of the markets but if a product at the market isn't labelled for allergens and if I have suspicion of it being cross contaminated with an allergen, I give the producer wide berth as I don't wish to go into toxic shock. NZ/Australia has had allergen labelling rules since 2002 and I don't see a lot of products on sale from small producers here complying either. As I said, stop griping and exercise common sense, raise concerns with your MP instead of yabbering about it being a conspiracy or another bureucratic morass.
