The Pipeline Masters produced 15 to 20 foot waves in the biggest swell seen in Hawaii this season.

Australian big wave rider Laurie Towner felt the full brunt of Banzai becoming the first victim and needing to be rescued after dislocating his shoulder and mangling his foot, while 18-year-old local John John Florence made surfing the break look easy.

Florence claimed the only perfect 10 of the day which keeps him on track to claim the Vans Triple Crown Title.

Tomorrow the surf is expected to get even bigger and world number one, Kelly Slater, will hit the water amongst the third round surfers.
