The man accused of having a gay affair with wrestler Hulk Hogan – fellow wrestler Brutus Beefcake – is taking legal action against Hogan's ex-wife.

Beefcake, real name Edward Leslie, has now taken legal action and instructed his lawyer to draw up a lawsuit against Bollea, who made the claims in her book Wrestling the Hulk - My Life Against the Ropes.

He tells TMZ.com, "I've known (Linda) for almost 40 years... but when she starts trying to ruin our careers, it just aint fair. Hulk is a tremendous person... a great man who deserves to be happy."

Hogan has spoken out to address his ex-wife's allegations he cheated on her with a male wrestler, branding the rumours "insane".

Hogan also filed a defamation lawsuit against Linda Bollea last week after she accused him of being violent and engaging in homosexual encounters.

Hogan tells Us Weekly, "After the four-year crazy divorce I thought I'd heard everything I could hear in the courtroom. Then, all of a sudden she says I abused her, that I was violent. She told everybody that I was a homosexual."

Addressing Bollea's allegations of a sexual relationship with Beefcake, Hogan adds, "If any of that was true, I would admit it, and (if) I was a homosexual I would embrace it. It's just so crazy to hear, so I have a real problem with it... If you're going to say I'm something that I'm not to try to ruin my career and my livelihood... I have to answer her back. It's so ridiculous. I don't mean to laugh about it, because it's not funny. But it's insane. It doesn't make any sense to me."

Hogan shares a daughter, Brooke, and son, Nick, with Bollea, who he divorced in 2009.

Hardly defamatory to call someone gay nowadays, surely? More of a compliment!
