Scientists say this skull of a nine-year-old boy is almost two million years old

The remains of a nine-year-old boy have been discovered in South Africa.

He is almost two million years old and belongs to a previously unidentified species, somewhere between apes and us.

The discovery is so important, anthropologists will be studying him for decades.

60 Minutes correspondent Bob Simon investigates.
