A mother and a baby panda are enjoying life in a nature reserve, after humans dressed in curiously familiar suits set them free.

The baby was born in captivity but handlers have tried to limit human interaction with the animal to maintain a healthy fear.

The handlers carried the baby panda in a basket lined with trees and branches, before setting it free.

Its mother, Cao-Cao, was transported in a cage.

She will wear a radio collar and if the pair do well under observation, they’ll be moved to a more remote location in the wild.

So this is what millions of dollars of conservation effort have come to? God help us all, and the pandas!
