Hurricane Irene has ravaged the eastern coast of the United States. Millions of homes still without power, the worst flooding for decades in New Jersey and Vermont, billions of dollars damage.
More than 40 people have been left dead by Irene but it looks like the warnings for people to get out and get safe have averted further disaster.
John Campbell and cameraman Chris Jones have been following the path of Irene up the eastern seaboard of the United States.
They've been assessing how the most powerful country in the world copes in the aftermath of a major natural disaster, and found a good old kiwi pie along the way
