Ice Cube failed to bring his former N.W.A. bandmate Dr Dre onboard for his latest album - because he couldn't contact the hip-hop star for several months.
The rapper's first CD in two years, I Am The West, was originally due for release this summer but the project has now been pushed back until September after he missed the deadline for submission.
And Ice Cube - real name O'Shea Jackson - reveals he wanted Dre to produce tracks on the new release, but both him and close friend Snoop Dogg haven't heard from the star, and he had to get on with the project alone.
He writes on his blog, "Many asked about Dr. Dre working on my album. Negative, Dre has been M.I.A. (missing in action) for a few months now.
"I asked Snoop has he heard from him and he said, no. I can't wait. I gotta turn my shit in by Aug. 20th to make street date... Sept 28th. I'll keep you posted if anythang (sic) new develops."
