Iconic Moondance Diner closing down
Fri, 10 Aug 2012 4:59p.m.
A New York diner which featured in Friends and on the big screen in Spider-Man is closing its doors due to poor business.
The Moondance Diner, which also appeared in the Sex And The City TV series, has struggled to stay afloat since Cheryl and Vince Pierce bought it in 2007 and moved the eatery to Wyoming to save it from being demolished by Manhattan developers.
The 80-year-old institution has been closed since the spring and Cheryl admits she has no plans to reopen it.
In Friends, Moondance was depicted as a 1950s-themed restaurant where Courteney Cox's character worked, while Kirsten Dunst was employed as a waitress there in the 2002 blockbuster Spider-Man.
