I agree with Hannah and KC, and besides before this was aired she probably went in and made her profile PRIVATE on Facebook. And Raewyn if you don't know what a Private page on facebook means, its when your page is only accessible by your friends..... Which means if she does have her Identity stolen via facebook after this lesson, its her own fault. The only information they aired on this episode was her name and the fact she lives in ChCh, which is probably accessible through many channels before and after they did this story.

Raewyn, this young lady is a journalism student herself and i am fairly sure if she had a problem with the ethics etc she would have said something prior to giving her consent to air the show. She is not a victim of identity theft at all, she is a young lady who consented to using the story to teach other young people what can happen.

Raewyn I think you missed the point, c'mon!? The girl's stuff is on Facebook, the whole exercise is exactly to show that any 'weirdo' and 'whackjob' can access all sorts of stuff about us if we choose to be lax about it. This means you. It isn't poor journalism, it's reporting on fact and the fact is our info is given away without a thought Is it uncomforable for idiots who choose to so breezily disclose their info? Well, take the lesson! If it's not on a web it can be in a handbag as the reporter showed. The modern age of identity theft is here, journalism is simply picking it up. If it isn't your cup of tea, get off the radar.
