The vast majority of internet users say being online does, or will, enhance their social lives, according to a new study.
In a poll of 895 people, 85 percent of them agreed that in 2020, the net's positive force will outweigh any negatives when it comes to relationships and social networks.
Only 14 percent said the net's negative points – commonly cited as shallowing friendships and taking time away from face-to-face contact – outweigh the benefits, including connecting people who might otherwise never have met and enhancing real-life relationships.
