Iran's attempt at a propaganda coup has backfired, with an international summit in Tehran hearing the unthinkable.

President Ahmadinejad had to listen as the UN Secretary-General castigated Iran for its attitude to Israel.

Almost as awkward was a new UN report that clearly suggested Iran was also lying about nuclear weapons.

What is DEFINITE is that ISRAEL HAS NUCLEAR WEAPONS and REFUSES to Join the UN Nuclear non proliferation treaty program. Propaganda coup backfires. . . . Not really. The head of the UN is at the NAM meeting, despite INTENSE lobbying from the Us and Israel on him not to go. - and I've seen an article online that said he was GOING due to the "arrogance" of Israel trying to stop him attending. Also, "The summit of the Non-Aligned Movement opened today in the Iranian capital Teheran. More than 40 head of states and head of governments are expected to attend, including the Egyptian president Morsi". Not getting much coverage in western media - who woulda guessed ??!! - One Israeli government official lamented that the summit in Tehran gives the Iranian regime a chance to "showcase that it is not isolated, to say there is no serous diplomatic pressure, and to give the regime a chance to show its own people it has friends and allies." http://www.jpost.com/DiplomacyAndPolitics/Article.aspx?id=282669 Not mentioned either is the call for a full disarming of nuclear weapons. " . . . . During a meeting with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and his accompanying delegation in Tehran on Wednesday, Khamenei pointed to nuclear disarmament as the common concern for all humanity. He added, “The Islamic Republic of Iran reiterates its stance on a Middle East free of nuclear weapons, and the UN should make serious efforts to allay the concerns with regard to nuclear arms .. . . ” The wests foreign policy as a whole is taking the world on a destructive path in virtually sphere and NAM is an attempt to show another way.

Iran only needs nuclear weapons because American forces surround them, Iran is the final strong independant (from American influence) SOVERIEN NATION in the region, the most oil rich region in the world. Now days to be treated with diplomacy as equals, and to be taken seriously at the bargaining table, as well as being safer from regiem change you need to be part of the nuclear umbrella. Lets remember Iran had chemical weapons during the ten year war with Iraq and did not use them because of moral reasons even though Saddam used them on Iranians. Aggressive American forien policy, and the international big business that drives it, is causing this arms. race

Palestinian suffering and rights dont disappear cos of ONE tool's rant..
Pres. Ahmadinejad STILL stands head and shoulders above those who plug their ears to the sounds of bombs and bullets.
Peaceful negotiation is still the only way for a just peace.
