Brendon Moore was beaten up so badly at school he had to spend a week off school

Earlier this year we brought you the story of Brendon Moore - a Massey High School student being terribly bullied at school.

He was beaten up so badly he was home for a week.

In the weeks following our stories, the issue of school bullying became a very public discussion.

The Prime Minister got involved and at the beginning of April, the Minister of Education sent out a letter to every board of trustees in the country, reminding them of her expectations that, quote, "all students can learn in a safe environment".

So what happened at Brendon Moore's school?

Is it a "safe environment", in line with the minister's hopes?

Campbell Live’s Natasha Utting investigates.

I wasn't very impressed with the schools response. As a parent I'd like to think that this school would communicate better with parents and the wider community about such a serious issue as bullying.

I see you're quite comfortable with using gratutious camera phone footage but are too scared to broadcast an audio tape. Good to see Campbell live isn't intimidated by 13 year olds
