I'm a very busy single mom. I work full time as well as homeschool my child. We live in an area that has one local place to shop for groceries and the next nearest place is an hour and half away. I realized that after calculating in gas expediencies and things like that I actually end up saving money by ordering hampers.

I don't buy Chrisco myself but I can see why they are a bit darer than the supermarkets and that is because they have to make some money out of the work they put in and also their prices include delivery.

15 years I have been getting Chrisco after the longest longest Exams new to christchurch I didn't know where to go for help.In January I found a chisco book worked out what I could afford and I haven't looked back except when we had our earth quack. It was so tough to get through that years buying from scratch But we can keep eating for well into the years I for one will not give up on chriscos for as long they work to help people get food into cupboards and there freezers are full. There vouchers are very expensive to buy through chriscos.Get a Xmas club where you want to buy there presents They have a great book out now where you can lay by toys, bedding, beds,tv,sports stuff beach plus lots more.It nice to see people with nice smiles on there faces

I'm at home sick and bored so I decided to compare a Chrisco hamper to what it would cost at Countdown. Gees it was worse than I thought it would be! One pack would have cost $75 at Countdown (I did full price - no specials) and Chrisco charged you $125!!! Another one was $84 at Countdown and $129 at Chrisco! I think this is awful especially considering you could get it cheaper at Pak'n Save and when things were on special.

I have been getting chrisco hampers since they 1st began 20 years ago. this year I decided there were to many hampers to chose from and I couldnt make up my mind so I decided to join Hampsta. I started paying $20.00 a week and recieved a Eftpos card. On the 1st of december my card was activated and I had $800.00 on it. I have until the 10th of January to use it and then it closes off for next christmas, any money not used is carried over to next year. Sure you have to use them at nominated shops but with the choice of shops that accept Hampsta cards, I can do all my christmas shopping including countdown, which is really important. Even at $5.00 a week you will still have $200 at christmas. I will never go back to buying chrisco hampers and I am very very pleased with my Hampsta card.

The owner of Chrisco is a multi multi millionaire. To be so rich out of selling what is easily done yourself is yet another obscenity, but people have got to wake up and look after themselves - stop being the victim!

You make a good pint MRMAN, but most of the people who use companies like Chrisco don't have the money to pay someone else to do their shopping. Business type people are hopefully in business because they are a bit smarter with money. I certainly don't see the value in spending $90 to pay someone to buy $207.00 worth of groceries. You are definately better of putting that money in the bank and collecting the interest even if you have to give someone $10 to drive you to the supermarket at the end of the year. How do you think Mr Chrisco paid for the huge mansion in Coatesville that Dotcom now lives in?

I think its a good deal if you have the extra money and are the very busy business type. They have to cover overheads its not like there going to do all the work for free now is it. If you had to pay some one professional wages to go out and buy all these items and cover gas you might work out almost even.

The best option is to put a few dollars away each week in a spare bank account then at the end of the year you will have what you have saved plus interest. I have a rabobank account for that as it has no fees aswell. You won't even notice 5 or 10 dollars a week and come Christmas you will be much less stressed
