Actually, that should be box. As in mailbox! That's right, today we mailed our wedding invitations!
Pause with me now for a huge sigh of relief...
My self-imposed deadline for mailing the invites was 30 September. Reason being, the RSVP date is 30 November, and I really wanted guests to have the full two months to make arrangements and get back to us.
Okay so the majority won't actually get their invites until say 2 or 3 October, but now you're just splitting hairs! We did do a mailbox run on the way home tonight, so at least some of our guests will have the full two months!
I had a very funny experience at NZ Post this morning. After trotting across town in the rain clutching my New World bag full of invites, I proudly presented them to the young(ish) lady at the counter. “I'd like stamps please. Four for Australia, three for the UK and 19 for NZ”. I proceeded to get evil eyes from said young(ish) lady while she ripped my stamps from her book (Literally! At least one actually lost the corner). Cheer up love, I'm sure you'll be getting married one day really soon (although perhaps tone down the evil eyes just a touch!).
While I carefully licked and sticked, I happened to notice out of the corner of my eye another bride-to-be in a similar position. Except she had sooo many invitations she needed a whole roll of stamps, and had found herself a chair to perch on while she completed the mammoth task. She only looked mildly strung out about it too...
Once again, I'm so happy we have just 39 invites to send out! If you're in the market for some invites yourself, check out the website of my wonderful designer:

PS: They look 10 times better in real life too.
