Iwi director slammed for stealing money from kids

A former iwi director who funded his nightclub with money intended for Maori children has been blasted by his tribe.

Arapeta Hamilton has been found guilty of five charges of fraud, after writing more than 130 cheques to himself and his companies.

Ngapuhi spokesman David Rankin says Hamilton is a greedy man who took advantage.

Hamilton will be sentenced on August 3.
