JB Hi-Fi staff went on strike in Wellington today to protest over pay.

The workers, joined by union colleagues, maintain they are paid half of what their Australian counterparts receive.

They are currently paid $13.50 an hour - 75 cents more than the minimum wage.

However, they say six months of negotiations with Australian bosses have gone nowhere.

It is the first time JB Hi-Fi staff have gone on strike in the company's 27-year history.

Thanks for your support guys :) And to Richard- wouldn't you rather move here and earn more than $13.50? If you thought you could make a positive change wouldn't you do it?
