Johnny Knoxville in Jackass 3D

Johnny Knoxville in Jackass 3D

I'm fairly ashamed of how much I liked this movie. It's unbelievably crass, stupid and childish but boy it is funny.

Seeing things like the ‘poo-cano’ in 3D on a massive cinema screen shouldn't amuse me as much as it does. I'm not going to explain what that term means, you really have to see it to believe it.

The 3D is generally used very well, especially in the opening and closing segments of the film. But what is even more enjoyable, is the ridiculously high definition, which allows ultra, ultra slow motion shots of people being hit in the face. This gag is done loads of times but I could probably watch an entire film devoted to just that. Something about seeing the skin and flesh on a human face move violently to the side, in HD 3D slow-mo, is just so entertaining.

Seeing Steve-O drink a cup of a fat man's sweat and vomit it up is not so fun and was the one part of the movie that made me gag. I was pretty shaken up by seeing a chap's tooth ripped out by a piece of string attached to a speeding Lamborghini too. And yes, you get a slow-motion replay of the tooth coming out, in 3D. Ugh!

The set-up pranks on the public seem a little weaker than in previous Jackass material and there are some gags that are lame. But the good bits made me laugh very hard. Like crazy hard.

The closing credits shows some of the first footage recorded of the guys, and school photos from when they were younger still. Despite ten years of thinking they're complete idiots and enjoying seeing them hurt themselves, I found this end strangely touching, especially as it felt like this will be the final film they make.

Nice one Jackasses, thanks for the LOLz.
