Director James Cameron received the 2,396th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Friday.

Longtime friends and colleagues Arnold Schwarzenegger (The Terminator, True Lies) and Sigourney Weaver (Aliens) were also present for the ceremony on Hollywood Boulevard in front of the historic Egyptian Theatre

The Canadian director, famous for his Oscar winning Titanic, has a new movie out that opened in the US on the same day.

Avatar is a 3D epic about humans taking extraterrestrial form as they explore a distant world and is reportedly one of the most expensive movies ever made.
