Jack. Thank you for your comment. I think its a wake up call for New Zealanders to see that despite what a great country we have, ignorant people like you still do exist in our community. For your information, Japan immediately sent their world class search and rescue team to Christchurch. They have only now returned to Japan (if that's okay with you). Its because of great New Zealanders (of which you are not one) that we will repay this great debt we owe Japan by sending our teams to their aid. I hope for your sake you find the strength to crawl out of your sad little mind.

OMG behave yourself, what a sick comment to make. This is not scare mongering, its responsible on the spot on the dot live coverage, 8.4 is no laughing matter and the tsunami impact shown on tv was horrifying. Thankfully people around the globe had a heart when they witnessed our catastrophe and are still doing all they can to help us. At least you got to watch 2 hours of idol, what a joke you are friend?

@Jack.. I understand the scare mongering, and agree with you to some extent. But, as a kiwi, especially a Cantab living in Tokyo, I have seen first hand how the ChCh quake touched so many Japanese & Non-Japanese, at it is the same with the quake here earlier today. There are so many expats here and people want to know what is going on. Phones are down, communication is difficult so yes, I (my opinion only so dont jump down my throat) think it is pretty important to show what is going on. News here has covered the ChCh quake from start till now..

Actually, the ChCh earthquake WAS a very big news in Japan. I've had my friend living in Tokyo that it was all over her internet tele for over an hour, thank you. The Japanese have also decided to not send tourists for this month, out of respect for those whose lives were lost. They have lost ppl too, leave them alone... As for "scare mongrelness", well it's not like the footages are made up, it's called journalism I think. How else would ppl living oveseas know&know help is needed.

Why are you feeling the need to show us over an hour of the earthquake in Japan? Did Japan stop all live life to show the Christchurch earthquake what a freakin joke the media is the biggest ever and I am sick of the scare mongering!
