The Japanese earthquake and tsunami in March are having an impact on new vehicle sales in this country.
Figures out today show that while there was the usual seasonal increase in sales between April and May, the rise wasn't as big as the industry was hoping, due to restricted supply of some Japanese models.
Toyota and to a lesser extend Honda suffered disruption to production facilities.
Just over 4500 new vehicles sold in May, a 7 percent rise on April but down 2 percent on the same month a year ago.
