Jay-Z is auctioning front-row tickets to an upcoming New York concert and afterparty invites to raise money for charity.

The hip-hop star has offered up the chance to meet him privately before he headlines Manhattan's legendary Carnegie Hall on Monday and Tuesday.

The highest bidder and three guests will also snack on hors d'oeuvres at a pre-show party, enjoy front-row seats in the venue and will have access to a post-gig reception, hosted by Jay-Z himself.

The VIP package, which is expected to fetch US$20,000, also includes free drinks and 'velvet rope access' at an exclusive afterparty at the rapper's 40/40 Club.

Proceeds from the auction will be handed to United Way of New York City and Jay-Z's Shawn Carter Scholarship Foundation to benefit low-income families and students.
