Jessica Chastain is still desperate to land a superhero role despite pulling out of Iron Man 3 last month.
The Help star was lined up to play a scientist who develops a terrifying virus in director Shane Black's superhero sequel, but the disappointed star was forced to turn it down because of her increasing work schedule.
The actress is now hoping she gets another chance to star in a comic book blockbuster.
She tells Total Film, "It's always a good problem to have because it means you have options. It's not really a problem, but it was just impossible, schedule-wise. So I was sad. I met Shane Black earlier and I think he's going to make an amazing film. And of course I went to see Avengers earlier and I loved it. I hope to be in a Marvel film."
