Reports suggesting the singer was expecting first surfaced in early September, but the blonde beauty refused to confirm or deny the story for weeks, while her growing baby belly started to speak for itself.
Now the mum-to-be has broken her silence and announced the news on her website on Monday.
Posting a photo of herself dressed up as a mummified figure for Halloween, Simpson cradles her bulging belly, alongside the caption, "It's true - I'm going to be a mummy!"
Simpson and fiancé Eric Johnson became engaged last November and they are expected to wed before the end of 2012.
