TV3 will host a live leaders’ debate between Prime Minister John Key and opposition leader Phil Goff in the last week of the 2011 election campaign.

The 90-minute debate and analysis, screening live on November 21 at 7pm, is among the last major debates before election night.

John Campbell will host and moderate the show that allows one hour of leader debate before analysis from a media panel.

The debate will also showcase the latest in audience interaction technology, with real-time viewer reactions shown using the innovative Roy Morgan Reactor.

A group of selected uncommitted voters will record their emotional reactions to the debate using the Reactor handsets, with the results shown live onscreen throughout the show.

The general public can also join the live review using their smartphone with the Roy Morgan Reactor app. Their results will be shown separate to the voters group.

The show will finish with commentary from a media panel consisting of RadioLIVE host Paul Henry, TV3 political editor Duncan Garner and political scientist Therese Arseneau.

As a keen follower of Campbell live I was disasppointed with that effort.I hope we never see that worm again what a mockery.John Campbell must feel embarrassed to be part of something where the panel were so obviously so far from being undecided voters. In my opinion viewers should have gained nothing from that performance. Phil would say something like 'all
kids should have the right to health care" and
the worm got really excited.Never ever any mention from Phil how Labour plan to fund their ideas? It seemed like I watched that debate for one hour and when John Key spoke almost absolutely no movement from the worm.It just tracked the center line.I put it to anyone that this would actually not be possible if the 65 selected audience had of been completely undecided in their minds.I am at a loss why tv 3 would wish to be part of such a thing? People just turned off and watched other programmes from what I can tell.

john key; his tone and body language are like that of a teenage boy saying, i don't care. every time he is quite rightly realigned by Goff from his boasts.

Liked the debate, interesting to follow the worm, although it obviously had no scientific significance.
But the total low down was to see that creep of a Paul Henry on the screen again. Was there really no onme else willing to do the job ? did TV3 have to drop so low ?

PAUL HENRY!!! Are you kidding me. It was so obivious that paul and that lady in that ugly as top were for john key. How can you have a fair pannel when the majority of them were all for john key. Phil goff clearly won that debate hands down!!! john key looked nervous and sceared just like he always is when it comes to serious talk. He kept repeating the same word over and over!!! So dissapointed in you channel 3!!! Hopefully you have a differnt panel on the night of the election otherwise im switching to another channel!!!!

On the issue of Assets Sale, Key kept saying this is a good chance for Mums and Dads to invest in our economy. The question is whose Mum and Dad? The answer was given by Geoff but not clearly emphasized: On the basis of other Assets already sold, only less than 1% of the NZ population invested in them. Assets Sale is giving that 1%, most of whom are Mr. Key's rich lister friends more rights and investment capital from our collective assets. The income would have belonged to 100% of the population. Mr Key wants more of 'the rich gets richer and the poor gets poorer.' Wake up NZ!

I hope I'm just imagining things but after using the reactor app I'm sure the app asked me to.rate how strongly I felt about the current speaker That's very different to feeling positive or negative. Guessing the app can load a string dynamically for different programmes but it was worded very poorly. Some might say it was deceptive

The revelation is emerging that the audience worm were infiltrated by labour party activists. How could this have happened?

If the debate was for neutral voters to make up their mind, then there should have been no political advertising to sway the voters during the debate...

Why was that pseudo journalist Paul Henry one of the so called experts? That did no favours to either party. I thought the debate was fairly even. Goff won the rational arguments, Key was later on more composed but can we trust him?? Narrow win to Goff. Although I thought he should have emphasised the fact National's so called plan involves shrinking the economy.
