John Campbell says he has an incredible job, and this year has been the most remarkable in his 22 years in journalism.

He says he's seen us at our best, at our happiest and at our saddest.

He spent weeks in Christchurch, and was at Eden Park the night we won the Rugby World Cup.

John says he was never alone, always with the most incredible camera people, editors, and most importantly, ordinary or extraordinary New Zealanders, who found themselves in the middle of something terrible, or wonderful, and who so generously shared their story with us.
