The Prime Minister's revealed he's off to Hollywood for talks with movie industry executives - and he acknowledges his visit is likely to be criticised.
Mr Key says his two and a half days in the movie industry capital will involve talks about attracting more filmmakers to New Zealand.
But he does admit some will read more into the trip.
Mr Key told RadioLIVE there is a theory held by some that it was Hollywood which influenced US authorities, and ultimately New Zealand, to investigate Megaupload founder Kim Dotcom.
“Yeah the conspiracy theorists won’t like it they’ll be on TV tonight saying ‘yeah you know Dotcom’ and all this sort of carry on but they live in fantasy land.”
And Mr Key has again rejected calls for an independent inquiry into the Government spy agency's illegal surveillance of Mr Dotcom.
