Johnny Depp has three portraits of Keith Richards hanging in his home.

The Rolling Stones rocker famously inspired Johnny’s much-loved Pirates of the Caribbean character, Captain Jack Sparrow.

The pair have become firm pals, and their friendship has reportedly now extended to canvas prints.

According to British newspaper The Sun, Johnny has three pictures he painted of Keith hanging in his English mansion.

The latest painting taking pride of place in the library is a painting of the musician’s profile “in thick red oil paint and with a background of king-size Rizla papers”.

Johnny is starring in The Rum Diary, which is directed by Bruce Robinson. The filmmaker saw the art as well as the 48-year-old’s collection of rare book manuscripts.

“I don’t know how Johnny gets everything done. With the books, it isn’t just a first edition of T S Eliot, it’s the manuscript. He showed me a first edition of Les Fleurs Du Mal inscribed by Baudelaire. I couldn’t believe it,” he said.

“Then when I got home, I found Johnny had slipped it inside my suitcase.”
