Former The Smiths rocker Johnny Marr is venturing into fashion - he's designed his own sunglasses for Ray-Ban.

The guitarist has teamed up with the high-end sunglasses giant to create his limited edition Signet shades with blue Legend lenses.

The Brit admits he's long been a fan of the brand and wore its glasses as a teenager trying to make it as a rock star in Manchester, England.

He says, "When I first started in The Smiths, I wore Ray-Bans all the time. I used to work in a shop in Manchester during the early Eighties, and we were the first to sell Ray-Ban. I recall I purposely ordered a pair for myself so I could be one of the few people in Manchester at the time to own a pair."

Ray-Ban bosses have produced just 1,500 pairs of the specially commissioned accessories.
