Buckcherry star Josh Todd has emerged as a fan favourite to replace Steven Tyler in Aerosmith.

The frontman recently insisted he has no plans to quit the rock supergroup, but guitarist Joe Perry is adamant the band plans to play on while the singer takes a two year hiatus - with a new star.

And that led to Rolling Stone editors asking fans to vote for the best replacement.

The majority of those who took part in the weekend poll insisted nobody could replace Tyler, but if somebody had to, Todd would be the best fit - ahead of New York Dolls star David Johansen, Van Halen's David Lee Roth, Iggy Pop and American Idol star Adam Lambert.

Meat Loaf, Scott Weiland and John Lydon also made the top 10 replacement candidates.

I've said this once and I'll say it again: Aerosmith isn't Aerosmith w/o Steven Tyler. Even though I absolutely love JT, he is meant to be in Buckcherry. Why throw all that hard work and touring down the drain?
O and you all should go see them. They're touring with kiss on the "Alive 35 Tour". I've seen BC live and its a show you CANNOT miss!!
