The stunning actress was introduced to the designer in 1998, when he was making her dress for that year's Academy Awards.

But as she had recently given birth to her son, Caleb, she wasn't feeling her best and Tom made her feel completely at ease.

She said: "I went to a fitting at the Beverly Hills Hotel, and I brought my son Cal, who was a couple of months old. Tom is utterly charming and so handsome. I was completely swept of my feet. He was so sweet to my baby and me. And I wasn't feeling all that attractive - I'd just had a child and my boobs were all big."

Tom designed her a gown, but Julianne didn't end up wearing it because she felt it showed off too much flesh, but Tom never made her feel bad about it.

She added to Britain's Harper's Bazaar magazine: "He made a dress for me, which I subsequently did not wear because it felt too revealing at the time, but he was really great about it and told me not to worry."

He later designed the green gown she wore to the 2003 Oscars.
