There is simply not the evidence to convict this man. Once again the police have jumped the gun in making this arrest.

The Jury must put all sentiment aside and convict or not convict on the basis of evidence only. In my opinion it is NOT BEYOND REASONABLE DOUBT. There is just enough possibility that the offender could still be out there. Remember other top profile cases when a man was allegedly convicted BEYOND REASONABLE DOUBT! If he is aqcuited, then we all know that life will never be the same for him again and whether he is innocent or not,it will be a tough world out here there for him!

Most of us would like to believe justice has been done for Scott by convicting Ewen as it was hard to believe he would commit those despicable acts against Scott & Kylee without being the killer but there is definitely too much doubt on the evidence we have seen

If I was Ewen and if I was saying not guilty I would be on the stand so fast my feet wouldn't hit the ground. I would be defending myself as hard as I could go. Instead we have continually had the dropped head, smug face and to me it all adds up to guilty. I feel so sad for Kylie and the children. I'm not sure about Anna, I say no more. As a mother, I'm sure Scott's mum has her intuition and deep now will know if he is guilty or not. I think Ewen is a mean spirited, nasty, jealous man, and is capable of committing this murder. He thought changes were coming to his life, he was making sure it didn't happen to him. Everyday I think of the Scott family including Kylie and my heart aches for them.

I originally hoped that for the family's sake Ewen was innocent. As the trial progressed I found myself thinking that he was guilty-what would the probability be that someone else did the murder after all of the terrible things that Ewen did? After all, he certainly had motive and he did burn down the Guy's house and commit criminal damage. However, after the proline boot evidence was challenged and 4 people said they heard shots at 5am, I feel now that there exists reasonable doubt. If I was on the jury I think that I'd have trouble convicting him, even though I feel that he still probably did it.

I have been watching this trial very closely and right from the start I believed he was innocent and he is in my eyes. It was all to convenient for the Police

No way enough evidence to convict... he aint no saint.. but there is nothing to say hes a murderer. Cops found a likely suspect and built a pathetic case around him. If I was on the jury I would not convict. Feel sorry for the whole family who still do not have justice.

Knowing all the people involved well, and living overseas, the internet is the only access I’ve had to getting information. I’ll keep my thoughts on the trial to myself, but I have to say the reporting has been catastrophically bad. I remember back to one of the early reports which referred to the dive boots as gumboots!
