The third test between Australia and India begins today at the WACA in Perth with much of the build up centering around the traditionally bouncy WACA wicket.
However last night Indian team management and players were left bewildered after seeing footage of people drinking, lying and walking on the pitch.
The footage, obtained by Indian news channel Times Now, appears to include members of the WACA ground staff, with curator Cameron Sutherland reportedly among those present.
It is traditional for the WACA ground staff to have a drink on the ground prior to a test match, however walking on the pitch is off limits.
A senior official with the Board of Control for Cricket in India, Rajeev Shukla, talked to Indian media last night.
"It's a serious matter and the Australian cricket board should look into it. It is the responsibility of the host cricket board to maintain the wicket. It is their prime responsibility."
