Justin Bieber fans who stole the singer’s hat have issued him an ultimatum.
Emah Hira Matiu and Beki Diamon are holding the purple cap to ransom, saying they’ll give it back – for a price.
“All he has to do is give us a hug each and a photo and he can have his hat back,” they told 3 News.
Bieber touched down in Auckland last night and was welcomed by a mob of screaming fans. His mother was knocked over and his clothes ripped before he was escorted to a waiting car by his entourage.
“We got trampled, everyone came up to us, people were walking on us and we had to run away,” the Bieber thieves told 3 News.
“They were all going 'can we touch it? Can we sniff it? Can we have a photo with it?'.”
During his visit to the 3 News offices this afternoon, Bieber told David Farrier he is upset about the loss of his hat, but isn’t angry with the girls who took it.
“You stole my property. It’s essentially illegal. But, it’s fine – I forgive you,” he said.
Parents are being assured they needn’t worry about the erratic behaviour of their teenage girls over the past 24-hours. Screaming, crying and excessive talking are all symptoms of Bieber Fever.
The illness has been spreading rapidly since his arrival last night and Clinical physician Sabina Dosani says it’s just “normal adolescent behaviour”.
“They’re teenagers, he is a pop star, he is their age – that is something to scream about.”
It’s nothing new; from the Beatles to Michael Jackson and even New Zealand Idol – if you’re a fan, you have to scream.
Dr Dosani says parents concerned about their excitable teens, may find they are simply “Beliebers”.
