Karangahake Gorge road remains closed

Contractors are working to clear slips on State Highway two in the Karangahake Gorge after severe weather in the region.

The road will be closed for at least the rest of today, and road closure signs are in place at each end of the gorge.
Motorists who are still attempting to use the road are having to be turned back by road workers.
Those wishing to travel through the area are advised to check the AA Roadwatch website for updates.
